What is quality and equity?
Under the law, Americans have equality in the sense that nobody can be legally denied their rights based on any personal quality.
The word equity is defined as “the quality of being fair or impartial; fairness; impartiality” or “something that is fair and just.”What is equity and why is it important?
Equity ensures fair distribution of opportunity and power.
Our goal of equity is for individuals to have the fullest possible engagement in their communities, society and nations.
For us to achieve this goal, historically excluded groups must have a central voice and role in efforts to address inequity and injustice. What is equity in philosophy of education?
Equity -- the foundation for multicultural learning -- would mean ensuring that every student has access to the curriculum, assessment, pedagogy, and challenge he or she needs based on the recognition and response to individual differences and the sociopolitical context of teaching and learning.
Equity recognizes that each person has different circumstances, and allocates the exact resources and opportunities needed to reach an equal outcome.
