  • How do you calculate antibody concentration?

    For both cases you need to get the concentration of the antibody stock - it can be calculated by c = n/v, if you have a volume value for A and an amount for B.
    From there you would either use v=n/c to get the volume required for your 5 and 10 ug amounts, or you would use C1V1=C2V2 for a concentration conversion.

    Dilutions are typically expressed as the ratio of the more concentrated stock solution to the total volume of the desired dilution.
    For example, a 1:10 dilution is made by mixing one part of stock solution with nine parts of diluent.

    Now you need them to be diluted as 1:1000, so simply divide 3000 / 1000 which is 3.
    So take 3 uL from your Primary antibodies stock vial and add into 3000 uL (3 mL) of PBS or any other diluent as per your choice.
    So this is yours 1:1000 dilution in total of 3 ml.

  • Now you could add 1.0 ml of the starting 1/1,000 dilution to 1.0 ml of diluent, making a 2-fold dilution (giving 1/2,000).
